NEWH Wine Tasting

Yesterday, Meagan, Alex, and I (Jamie) attended the NEWH/Orange County Region Wine Tasting event at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach. Featuring Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa and Cielo Estate in Northern California, there was plenty of great wines to choose from (my favorite: the Cielo Estate Magnifique, a merlot blend). The Shorebreak was an excellent venue as well, with a cool beachy modern vibe to it. We reconnected with old friends and met a few new ones as well. All in all, a great event. Thanks NEWH OC! 

HD Expo 2013

Sage Restaurant

Over the years Lisa has introduced me to some amazing Las Vegas Restaurants.  This year we had a chance to dine at Sage Restaurant in Aria known for it's Artisanal American Cuisine.  We choose the Signature tasting menu with the wine paring and each we each took a separate path; I focused on the meats and Lisa on the seafood allowing us to taste a wide variety while we sampled each others.  By the end of the meal we were all relaxed and content having shared a fabulous meal and great conversation with friends.  Here is a peak at the amazing courses...

Los Angeles Design Quarter

It's Jamie here! My friend (and fellow interior designer) from NYC came to visit me here in California, so we decided to go to the Los Angeles Design Quarter for an afternoon. This is an area in the West Hollywood neighborhood of LA that is a designer's dream. We went to different showrooms and boutiques along La Cienega and Melrose such as Baker, Kelly Wearstler, Waterworks, Dedon, and more. We made our final stop at the Pacific Design Center to see the David Sutherland, Andrew Martin, and Armani Casa showrooms. Our final stop was the Mimi London showroom, where we met with fellow Virginia Tech alum Mark Boone. We ended our long afternoon of window shopping with drinks at the beautiful Cecconi's on Melrose. All in all, a fabulous LA exursion.

BD West - Day 1

BD West at the San Diego convention center is having a great debut.  The venue in the sails pavilion is perfect with the natural light and the scale is such that you have an opportunity to really re-connect with colleagues and vendors and get the detailed information you need.  We have grabbed pics of some of our favorites...enjoy.  See below for vendors.

What a great dinner with old friends and new with Kevin Barry.  Andrew we had a great time!  The restaurant is is very cool with a rustic chic interior.  If you are in San Diego for the conference and looking for a great meal, my favs were the cheddar bacon grits, the grill cheese & tomato, the strawberry and champagne salad and the flank steak...It was great to try to many different items around the table!

WonderCon

Going to events such as WonderCon and Comic Con are always great to see the creativity that people can bring to pop culture.  The artwork  of all the artisans and costumes of the participants make for great viewing, inspiration and sometimes just a big smile.

The best thing about Vegas

Bouchon French Toast. Always amazing! Thanks to Lisa who first introduced me to this amazing breakfast and to David who woke up early so I could have this for breakfast today.
